CPPMWC Backflow program

State law requires a backflow device assembly must be installed to prevent back siphon and backpressure into the  main water supply if you have or involved in :

  1. Fire sprinklers
  2. ponds, lakes
  3. wells or other water sources
  4. certain types of irrigation systems
  5. kennels and other animal ventures
  6. some commercial ventures

The devices must be tested once the device is installed and each year after that. The device must meet county specifications and, cannot be removed during the winter months.

Prior to receiving a final inspection from the San Bernardino County of Building and Safety, you must provide proof of inspection.

after a completed backflow device test form, signed off by an approved backflow tester and all other outstanding items regarding the water and wastewater connection have been completed, CPPMWC will release the water service work order to field personal.

Each year the District will send a reminder notice along with a new list of authorized backflow prevention testers. Failure to have the device tested could result in the termination of the domestic and fire service. Services will continue to be terminated until the backflow test is completed and the collection of all costs associated with the reconnection of service by the District Customer Service office.
